One of the most touching moments of the Super Bowl came before the game even started.
Husband and wife country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a beautiful rendition of "America the Beautiful."
The couple held hands throughout the duet, and at points Miranda appeared to be tearing up. It's been an incredibly difficult year for both.
On January 18th, Blake's father Dick died after being hospitalized in December for pneumonia.
More tragic news came on January 26th, when Miranda's childhood friend Mark Adams was killed when a car struck him as he was helping a stranded driver on the side of the road.
"I have lost a friend I've had since 3rd grade today in a tragic accident. When will this pain end," Miranda posted on Twitter. "Please call your friends, especially the ones you haven't talked to In a while or maybe are not on great terms with and tell em u love em," she urged her followers.
Then last week, her beloved dog died too. "My best friend, father in law and now my dog Dixie. My dog died thursday. My parents just told me. Headed now to bury my friend of 20 years," the singer tweeted.
Despite all the pain, Miranda has been able to draw strength from her fans, saying, "I have learned so much these past few weeks. One of those things is how much my fans have my back. When I fall apart on stage u are there..."
Luckily she didn't fall apart on the biggest stage of her career, and her husband was there to support her the entire time. Check out their lovely duet, below!
