While the dancing professional has always been in shape, he appeared on the streets of L.A. recently looking more fit than ever.
The just-released photos, which were taken before today's announcement, show the shirtless and scruffy star flaunting his ripped physique for photogs during a workout.
Compare those pics with a shot of him last August (below) ... and the difference is clear.
Maksim's partner this year is Melissa Gilbert. Lucky gal!
