Mark Ruffalo fills The Hulk's very large shoes in the upcoming mega-movie "The Avengers" -- and it was a task he found "terrifying" at first.
At a press conference for the film, the 44-year-old actor opened up about being the latest person to step into the role, following Eric Bana and Ed Norton.
"It was terrifying and I knew what my responsibility was," Rufflo said about joining the team.
"I felt it just by making the mistake of going online and reading some of the fanboy responses to the announcement that I was playing the next version of Bruce Banner ... that was a mistake, I will never do that again."
He says the reaction was so intense that he "never had a role be more scrutinized and criticized before I shot a single frame. Coming onto the set with all of these guys was pretty daunting, many of my heroes in life are in this cast."
While Ruffalo and his green counterpart definitely steal the movie, Mark had one qualm with making the movie: His motion-capture costume!
"It was tough and I wish that I had a cool costume the entire of time instead of a leotard that was painted like a Chinese checkerboard!"
Hope those behind-the-scenes shots end up on the DVD!
