Chris Brown is known for being a bad boy, but his new music video "Don't Judge Me" takes a different turn and showcases the artist's vulnerable side.
In the video, Chris play a soldier heading off on an outer space suicide mission for his "country and his planet."; In the climactic last moments, Chris sings about his past and desire for a brighter future, saying:
"Just let the past, just be the past
And focus on things that's gonna make us laugh
Take me as who I am, not who I was
I promise I'll be the one that you can trust"
Are these lyrics a call out to his ex-Rihanna? Despite being charged with assaulting her in 2009, the two appeared more than friendly at the recent MTV VMAs.
"Don't Judge Me" is a departure from his typical bad boy dance-filled, shirtless music videos. But Chris does manage to sneak some skin into the cinematic-style video.
The song is off his recently released album "Fortune." Similar to the album cover and the "Turn Up The Music," "Don't Judge Me" follows his obsession with aliens by using encrypted codes and futuristic visuals.
Is it nice to see the bad boy's softer side? Tell us what you think about his new video!
