"E.T. the Extraterrestrial" lands on Blu-ray today, 30 years after first hitting theaters.
The mark the occasion, former child star Henry Thomas appeared on "Today" on Tuesday to look back on the filming of the Steven Spielberg flick and working with a young Drew Barrymore.
"She was around 7, and the veil hadn't quite been lifted yet," Thomas says of Drew, who apparently believed E.T. was a real alien.
"She was really worried about him all the time," he says. "'Why doesn't he eat lunch with us?' ... Yeah, she was super cute."
Thomas also spoke to USA Today about the movie's legacy.
"I have kids now. And everyone you meet, especially people close to my age, they all have very meaningful stories about seeing the movie the first time."
Find out what Thomas and the rest of the cast have been up to since the movie's release back in 1983 in the gallery above.
