"Dancing with the Stars" host Brooke Burke-Charvet took to YouTube to reveal some serious news today: She's needs a thyroidectomy.
In a video posted to ModernMom's YouTube Channel, Brooke says doctors found a cancerous nodule on her thyroid.
"I need to have thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, which means I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck," the 41-year-old mother of four says in her clip.
"I never ever, ever thought I was going to get that phone call with bad news," she says -- while adding "I feel really good and actually I've never felt better."
And she has a very positive outlook on the situation.
"I'm going to be fine. And I feel really really strong. Doctors say this is a good kind of cancer to have," she says. "Good cancer! That sounds so crazy. But my doctor did tell me this is a happily-ever-after ending kind of thing. I'm going to fight through this."
No word yet on when Brooke will get her operation, but the current season of "DWTS" wraps up at the end of the month.
