Drew Barrymore has lived her life in the spotlight -- but her child won't!
The 38-year-old gets candid about motherhood in her latest interview with Harper's Bazaar. The brunette beauty gave birth to her daughter Olive last October, and while Drew appreciates the time she's spent in front of the camera and in the spotlight, she doesn't want that for her little girl.
"I had such an exposed childhood," she says. "I appreciate my journey, but I don't want that for my kid. Not any of it. It has nothing to do with whether I liked my childhood. I really did. But as a parent, that isn't the childhood that I'd provide," she confesses to the mag.
But Barrymore does hope that Olive will follow in her footsteps behind-the-scenes -- eventually taking over Drew's new makeup line with Walmart, Flower.
"It was very romantic for me to make this while she was growing inside me," she says. "I like the multigenerational-family aspect, in the vein of a Lauder—if we're so lucky that it stays around that long. She may want to be a food stylist, a mathematician, a scientist who will save us all. I just know that the family part really appeals to me," she says.
Don't fret, the actress-turned-businesswoman hasn't given up on her craft -- but, for now she's happy being a mom and dyeing pants (her latest creative hobby).
"By no means am I saying that I'm never going to act again," she says. "It's just that I'm having so much fun, dyeing crazy leggings in those weird pockets of time when I'm waiting for my daughter to wake up so I can be a mom."
