"Millionaire Matchmaker" Patti Stanger is brutally honest when it comes to love -- and she's putting MTV's "Catfish" on blast.
"Honestly, I think it's bull---t!," she said.
In the wake of the Manti Te'o faux-relationship scandal, toofab's Brittany Kyles chatted with the reality star to find out her opinions on the MTV reality show, online dating in general and some possible prospects for our favorite newly-single starlets.
"How do you go out with someone for 2-3 months and don't meet the person you think you love? That doesn't smell right to me, none of the 'Catfish' people do," she says.
"It's one thing if someone is traveling for 2-3 weeks and you can't meet, but if you go past a month or two months, you're a ret----d. That's not your boyfriend or girlfriend, that's someone you're speaking to, texting or tweeting."
And while she sounds like a hater of online dating, Patti actually met her current beau on PlentyofFish.com. The couple has been together for just about nine months now.
While there are plenty of online dating success stories, Patti says there are some definite red flags to keep an eye out for.
"When the guy asks for too many pictures, he's a sex addict. If you have decent pictures and he keeps asking you ... more than two times, you're screwed. The second thing is, if someone gets very sexually overt -- I've seen that -- it's happened to me, then you need to report them to the websites police, the programmers watching the site. And another thing is, if they don't want to meet you at a public place," Patti suggested.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it only seems appropriate to talk about finding that special someone.
Taylor Swift and Britney Spears are both newly single, so we had to ask the matchmaker what type of person she thinks would make a good fit for each of the famous pop stars.
On Taylor: "Right now I think she needs to take a break from guys, I think people think she dates just to write songs about them and I don't think that's the case, it's just a way for her to channel her creativity. Bottom line is, it's going to give her a bad reputation, so I think she needs to date older and it doesn't have to be someone famous."
And for Spears: "Britney was with a guy for a very long time and he knows her inside and out. She needs someone who can make her laugh like a Dane Cook-type. She's had a very rough year, and she's very needy so maybe she needs like a therapist type person, someone in the medical field. Like a young Dr. Drew.”
And if you're looking for a great Valentine's Day entertaining tip -- try some of Patti's Ty Ku sake, which she labels "the drink of love."
She elaborated, "It's meant to be shared, you're not supposed to pour your own so it's very romantic. It spiritually makes you aware, and it has aphrodisiac components."
