The "Safe Haven" star appeared on the "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" show to promote his latest flick ... but somehow he ended up grinding on the talk show host!

The handsome actor played down his skills on the dance floor, telling Fallon that when he's out with his "Black Eyed Peas" lady, "I keep the expectations low."
Then he suggested dancing with Jimmy, "We could dance if you like," he said.
