If you're getting bored or tired of your gym dance class, check out LaBlast!
Created by "Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer Louis Van Amstel, the class combines a variety of ballroom dances including Salsa, Samba, Jive for a high-energy, fat-burning workout.
Last week, Louis taught a special session of LaBlast at Crunch Fitness in West Hollywood, and I took part. I was a little hesitant at first, but Louis assured me it would be fun.
He also let me in on a little secret: the "La" in LaBlast doesn't stand for Los Angeles (the classes are nationwide and expanding globally) or even his initials. It's just the feminine form of "the" in French, and he thought it sounded cool.
Don't let the "La" turn off you guys. Let's just say after the class, this guy was completely winded! Thankfully, I was able to refresh with low-calorie Voli Light Vodkas during the post-workout "Happier Hour."
The Voli cocktails are around 110 calories or less so your workouts won't go to waste (or to your waist).
