Cody Simpson is setting the record straight!
The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant shared a picture of his naked butt on Sunday, which caused quite a stir online today. (We decided not to re-post the racy snapshot because, at 17, he's still a minor.)
The nude photo was deleted from Simpson's Instagram and Facebook accounts, though it wasn't Cody's decision to remove it. "looks like Instagram didn't like my ass," he tweeted on Monday.
The "Surfboard" singer released the following statement exclusively to toofab:
"My post on Sunday was merely meant to make my fans laugh on a Sunday evening. It was a shot I had from my last trip home on the Gold Coast and I certainly didn't intend to offend anyone. I respect FB and Instagram for their content rules and I do not fault them for it."
According to Instagram's Terms of Use, "You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service." And, per Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, "You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence."
It seems like Cody learned his lesson!
