Elisabeth Hasselbeck had quite the health scare recently.
On Friday the "Fox and Friends" host returned to the show this morning and revealed the reason behind her month-long absence.
Hasselbeck told viewers that doctors had found a potentially cancerous tumor in her abdomen which had to be removed by months end. The tumor was later determined not cancerous.
The conservative talk show host was understandably shaken up by the whole ordeal.
"I had a scary week when we didn't know what the results were," Elisabeth shared. "But I'm okay…everything came back okay. Surgery's not fun, but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible."
The TV personality is grateful for her clean bill of health and for everyone who supported her through the process.
"I could not be more thankful for my family and friends who've stuck by me with incredible support,” she said. "This entire Fox family treated me like family the entire way… I'm certainly not a person who takes a lot for granted, bit I certainly don't take it for granted now."
The former "View" host even got choked up while addressing the frightening experience.
"So many people I know have stared down the barrel of that cancer gun, and looked at it when they have gotten bad news," she told co-host Steve Doocy, "and have done remarkable things, courageously, to fight it."
We're just glad to hear that Elisabeth is A.O.K. and 100 percent healthy!
