Ellen Pompeo Poses Nearly-Nude For EW, Talks Sexest Reactions To McDreamy's Death!

The "Grey's Anatomy" star strips down for the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, where she opens up about some of the sexest comments she's heard regarding the death of her on-screen hubby, Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).

Pompeo stuns on the cover wearing only a lab coat and a stethoscope. Her hair is styled in messy curls as she completes her look with red pumps, a red lip and smokey eyes.

Fans were definitely shocked, to say the least, when McDreamy was killed off at the end Season 11. And while Derek and Meredith's relationship has been one of the central storylines for the last 11 years, Ellen says she takes offense to comments that Grey will not be able to survive in the seasons to come without her handsome hubby.

"All of a sudden, ­Patrick [Dempsey] leaves, and it's like, 'Oh my God, ­Meredith's gonna get killed with Alzheimer's! The show couldn't possibly go on ­without the man!'" Pompeo said during the shoot for EW, which included lots of wine and cheese with her fellow Shondaland family.

Shonda Rhimes -- who's also the mastermind behind shows like "Grey's," "Scandal" and "How To Get Away With Murder" -- likewise stood by her decision to kill off Derek during the TCA's summer press tour in August.

"Either Derek was going to walk out on Meredith and leave her high and dry…and what was that going to mean? That would suggest the love wasn't true – the thing we had said for 11 years was a lie and [that] McDreamy wasn't McDreamy. For me, that was untenable," she said during the press conference.

"I really couldn't have the idea that he just turned out to be a bad guy who walked out on his wife and kids be a true story,” she continued. "To me, it felt like [Derek's death] was the only way to make Meredith and Derek's magic remain true and forever frozen in time."
