Josh Brolin is speaking out about the "punks" in Hollywood -- and it definitely sounds like he's got Ryan Gosling on the brain.
The actor, who rose to fame as a young star himself, talks about working on set now that he's in his late '40s, reflecting on how things have changed through the years.
"I see young Hollywood punks on the set, and it's funny to me. Because it's absolutely me all over again,” he tells Man of the World. "I'm the old guy who's like, 'Oh cool, you got your leather jacket and it cost you $400 and you bought it all ripped up!'"
Then he talks about one actor in particular ... and while he doesn't name names, it seems pretty obvious who he's talking about.
"I remember a guy I worked with who was from Ontario, but he talked like De Niro," Brolin said. "I was like, 'Holy s**t, he's actually doing De Niro. Does he know that I know? I'm not even listening to what he's saying.' It's fascinating to me."
Of course, Gosling is from Ontario and costarred with Brolin in "Gangster Squad." The actor, 34, is also known for his odd accent.
Ryan's actually spoken about his cadence in the past, but it's not De Niro he's going for.
"As a kid I decided that a Canadian accent doesn't sound tough," he told W Magazine in 2010. "I thought guys should sound like Marlon Brando. So now I have a phony accent that I can't shake, so it's not phony anymore."
At least Brolin's comments shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, right?
