Zooey Deschanel has managed to keep her daughter's name under wraps for three months, but she finally revealed the unique moniker!
The "New Girl" star and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, chose the name Elsie Otter for their baby girl.
"It's Elsie…" the new mom told PEOPLE at the "Rock the Kasbah" premiere in New York City on Monday night. "Otter," the proud papa added. "Like the animal. Sea otter!"
The actress, who showed off her super slim post-baby bod for the first time at the event, looked gorgeous in an off-the-shoulder black sparkly dress.
Now that the secret's out about her baby's name, Zooey can't help but gush about her new addition.
"We just really liked the name Elsie and then we both love otters — they're very sweet and they're also smart," she said on "Today" on Tuesday. "They use tools … they hold hands while they sleep, there's so many amazing things about otters. They're wonderful animals."
We can't argue with that!
