The Rock has his soft spots.
In a clip from this Sunday's "Oprah's Master Class" with Dwayne Johnson, the wrestler-turned-movie star opens up about raising his now 14-year-old daughter Simone. It's a rare glimpse at the "San Andreas" star's vulnerable side -- and one that makes us love him even more.
"When I held her when she was born, I held her in these two hands and I said to her, 'I will always, always take care of you. For the rest of your life, you are safe,'" he says of his kid, who he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
"Throughout the ups and downs, I've realized that the most important thing that I could do with my daughter is lead our life with love," he continues. "Not success. Not fame. Not anything else. But, 'I'm always here for you. I love you.'"
His eyes start welling up as he gets candid about a recent chat he had with the teenager.
"I said, 'Do me a favor. I want you to tell me, what is the thing that you love most about our relationship?," he explains. "She said, 'Well, that I trust you. For a 13-year-old girl to say that to her dad ... 'I trust you, and we have a very special bond' ... "That moved me."
He laughs as he wipes the tears from his eyes. "I couldn't ask for anything else. I love that girl."
"Life's crazy and complicated, but this amazing, loving, protective one of a kind father/daughter bond we have keeps me grounded and balanced," the actor posted on Instagram earlier this year.
Johnson and girlfriend Lauren Hashian are currently expecting their first child together.
"I was raised by and live with amazing and strong women, so the universe felt we needed one more," Johnson wrote in his announcement online. "IT'S A BABY GIRL!! THANK YOU guys so much for the awesome support and love you've sent [Lauren] and myself from around the world. We're so grateful for this blessing and thrilled to share the news with y'all."
