Oliver Hudson got some bad buzz for calling out his father on Instagram, but it seems his controversial "Happy Abandonment Day" photo may have sparked a reconciliation!
On last night's "Watch What Happens Live," the "Scream Queens" star revealed that his bad joke may have mended his broken relationship with dad Bill Hudson.
"It actually started a dialogue," the 39-year-old actor told host Andy Cohen. "I haven't talked to my father in 12 years. In my dark, crazy sense of humor, I posted this 'Happy Abandonment Day' thing, which everyone went crazy over, and I was just trying to be funny. And at the end of the day it was a good thing."
"We're communicating now, [I] had an amazing three-hour conversation with him," he added. "We're texting, trying to see each other. So, you know, we might be mending something."
Both Oliver and his younger sister, Kate Hudson, have talked openly about losing touch with their father after he divorced their mom, Goldie Hawn, in 1982.
