Big Ang made a triumphant return to the red carpet last night, her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis in December.
The "Mob Wives" star celebrated the show's Season 6 premiere at her very own Funky Monkey Lounge in Staten Island on Wednesday, showing up with a very different 'do than we're used to seeing on her. Long gone were the long blonde locks she had been sporting since March of last year, as she instead rocked a short, platinum cut. According to the New York Daily News, she cut it in preparation for chemotherapy, which she began last week.
"My arrival last night at the #mobwives #thelaststand premier party. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me and the show," she captioned a photo from the celebration on Instagram. "Thank you everyone for your kind words regarding my health. I'm taking things one day at a time and remaining as positive as could be. Love you all so very much."
She appeared in great spirits at the event.
"How do you like my new look? I'm getting used to it," she said in an earlier post. "I hope you all had a great Christmas, I made the best of mine. I was surrounded by all of the people I love and then some."
After learning about her diagnosis, Riancola also shared another post about "remaining positive."
"It's the only way to be! I am keeping my eye on the prize and the things that matter most to me: my health, my family, especially my siblings, my children and grandchildren, and my close friends," she wrote. "I'm thankful for all of your love and concern. I'm especially grateful for your prayers, and for being by my side through the good and not so good."
"We fought it once, and knocked it out, this time I'm putting a hit on it! Let's look forward to brighter days, and hopefully a New Year of good things for us all, including a great new season of Mobwives," she added.
