Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's fairy tale romance actually started on a double date ... with other people!
"About a year after 'Green Lantern' had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date -- she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl -- and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across," the "Deadpool" star said on SiriusXM's Entertainment Weekly Radio on Wednesday.
Reynolds and Lively met on the set of 2011's "Green Lantern," when he was still married to Scarlett Johansson. They married in 2012 and welcomed daughter James last year.
"We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends," he declared.
During his press tour this week, the "Sexiest Dad Alive" also talked about the awkward song he played before Blake gave birth to their baby girl.
"I jammed a little Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On.' It was like steak knives came out of her eyes," the actor told Seth Meyers on "Late Night." "Like, 'Are you f--king s--tting me right now?' Real bad, yeah. But she was a mercenary. I think I just caught her right in the middle of a contraction."
In fact, he added, "She was making jokes the entire time."
The proud papa also couldn't help but gush about his little one, admitting that he has no problems getting his hands dirty.
"I always do the dirty work," he said on "TODAY." "I'm happy to do the dirty work. So does she, but I'm always, I love getting up in the middle of the night, I'm fine with that, you know, all that stuff."
Fatherhood, he added, has been "amazing."
