It's a match made in (tech) heaven!
Katy Perry made quite a statement when she hit the red carpet in her custom Prada gown at the Met Gala. The dress featured gold metallic details and one trinket some of you may have missed: a Tamagotchi pet -- the uber-popular '90s toy from Japan.
"I've had two Tamagotchis located in Connecticut and I just feel a little like … like I'm in tech, but I'm not playing your game," the pop star told PEOPLE. "But I've been keeping these bitches alive since '96."
"Well, this is a Tamagotchi," she explained to Vogue's André Leon Talley on Monday night. "It's been my tech contribution for this year's Met Gala. It's humble, but it's tech."
It seems Katy's boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, wanted to honor the event's "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" theme as well. He accessorized his burgundy and black Prada suit with his own Tamagotchi toy!
Even though Katy and Orlando arrived separately to the Gala, they reportedly both attended the same soiree after the event.
The couple, who first sparked dating rumors back in January after showing sweet PDA at a Golden Globes bash, attended The Weeknd and Naomi Campbell's after-party.
Perry switched up her look for the bash, sporting a heavily embroidered off-the-shoulder midi with chunky lace-up stilettos.
