Back At It! Jessica Simpson Returns to Recording Studio 6 Years After Last Album

The business mogul took to Instagram to share two photos from inside her recent recording session with famed singer-songwriter Linda Perry.

"Studio Vibin'," she captioned the solo shot.

It's been six years since the singer released her last album, "Happy Christmas," which came out in November 2010.

Simpson recently talked about her big return to music. "I'm back in the studio—I've been in the studio all week," she told Huffington Post. "It's been a very exciting time to rediscover music and I definitely have so much inspiration. I've been in the music business for so long, and it's interesting to see what I come up with as a mom and the perspective I have after all the records I have made and all the life situations I've been through."

"There's a lot to talk about. There's a lot to sing about," she added. "There's a lot I feel like people will relate to."

Since 2010, Jess has welcomed two kids -- Maxwell and Ace -- and continues to work on her fashion empire, which includes clothing, shoes, handbags and swimwear.

It seems the blonde bombshell has even passed on her musical genes to her little ones.

"Well, my daughter really is a fan of of 'Mikki Naj.' Not Nicki Minaj, 'Mikki Naj.' That's her inspiration at the moment," she admitted. "And Ace is — I could brag — but he has perfect pitch. He's got such good tone. He can sing so well, but the words don't always come out correctly. It's cute, they both love music and they like to dance and circle around each other."
