Blake Shelton can't stop gushing about his "perfect" relationship with Gwen Stefani!
The country crooner got extremely candid about his lady love while chatting with CMT for their "Hot 20 Countdown."
"It's not something anybody could've seen coming besides God, I guess, because it doesn't look like it would make sense," the "Came Here To Forget" singer said. "All I can tell you is that it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we're at in our lives."
Blake and Gwen -- who costar on "The Voice" together -- began dating after each split from their spouses, Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale, last summer. While both singers were going through a very tough time, Blake said he owes a lot to the No Doubt frontwoman.
"I tell people all the time, 'Gwen saved my life last year.' She did," he declared. "I think she'd probably tell you something similar about me."
It probably helps that Shelton and Stefani were friends first, as they started working together on the NBC series back in 2014. "[We'd] high-five, and [say] 'Good to see ya,'" he revealed.
But the very next year, "all of a sudden this thing just happened because of some things that we were going through, and it saved my life. Period," he said.
Clearly, their relationship is stronger than ever today. Blake and Gwen even released a duet together, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," for Shelton's new album, "If I'm Honest."
Stefani opened up about their collaboration on Wednesday's episode of "Chelsea." "The story is that he had written this song and sent it to me on my phone," Stefani told Chelsea Handler about the track. "He's like, 'I wrote this song.' And I was like, 'Whoa, what if I don't like it? Huge turnoff!' I listened to it and thought, 'Oh, my God, I love this.' He said, 'Write the rest of it.'"
