Five police officers are dead and many others injured after a shooting in Dallas on Thursday night. The attack happened during a Black Lives Matters protest over the fatal shootings of black men in both Louisiana and Minnesota earlier this week.
As the news continues to develop in Texas, celebrities have taken to Twitter to share their reactions -- expressing outrage over the shootings, sympathy towards the families of the cops involved and motivating change in the system that created this environment of violence.
Halle Berry posted what appears to be a rare photo of her son, Maceo, asking, "What will my brown son's future be?" in a powerful Instagram message (see the full text below). Kevin Hart said the news is "hurting his heart," while Chris Brown made a call to action to all the stars out there to "speak up right now and help people."

As someone with law enforcement in my family, I am just shaking. That does not equal this. Senseless. Horrific. Heartbreaking.

My heart hurts. Too much death. Too much hate. Hug your loved ones tight. Tell them that in the darkest times, we MUST love even harder.
@iamrashidajones
Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets.
@johnlegend
These Dallas shootings are horrific. Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe.
@johnlegend
It is truly tragic when a vicious few turn a peaceful protest into a bloodbath. Horrific and sad. #nomoreviolence

The shooter does NOT have the same agenda as the peaceful protesters. He wants to start a war. Don't let him. We are better than this.
