Fifteen years after Aaliyah died in a tragic plane crash, celebrities are paying tribute to the singer via social media.
Missy Elliot, who together with Timbaland collaborated with the singer on her "If Your Girl Only Knew" track, took to Instagram to remember her friend with a touching tribute.

Beyonce also turned to Instagram to remember the late "Are You That Somebody" singer with a throwback video of herself interviewing a then 18-year-old Aaliya on the red carpet of the 2000 MTV Movie Awards.
"What are you looking forward to seeing?" the "Formation" superstar asks.
"I want to see D'Angelo perform," says Aaliyah before Bey enthusiastically agrees, saying, "Girl, I'm with you, 'cause you know he fine."
