This is what happens when Ellen DeGeneres takes a sick day.
Miley Cyrus takes over "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, subbing for the host while she's under the weather. And, just like Ellen, the current "Voice" judge hit the stage on this morning's episode with a little extra pep in her step ... dancing her way out to greet the audience.
"Alright, everybody, I am Ellen DeGeneres. Right. Ok. Obviously, I'm not Ellen. I am Miley Cyrus, how's it going everybody?" she said to a slightly confused studio. "Now I know all of you came to see Ellen, so I'm gonna do my best to make you very happy."
And while DeGeneres was MIA, Miley did her best to bring a little Ellen authenticity to the show.
"I'm dressed like her, I smell like her, just before I came out here I actually kissed a girl, so, uh, thank you. Thank you for making me feel very welcome," she continued. "I'll admit I'm a little bit nervous because I've never hosted a show with my clothes on before, so this is so weird."
"Don't worry you guys, Ellen will be fine, but she just isn,t feeling well so she's asked me to fill in and, of course, I said yes for my girl Ellen," Cyrus continued. "And I gave her a bunch of Molly to make her feel better. It's working."
For those not in the know, Molly is a nickname for the drug MDMA.
"Seriously, I really am honored to be here," she added at the end of her opening monologue. "Ellen, thank you for asking me. We all want you to feel better very soon."
Later in the show, Cyrus played a game called "5 Second Rule" with Sarah Jessica Parker ... and chatted up Idina Menzel on the possibility of having Elsa be a lesbian in the sequel to "Frozen."
