Jessica Simpson likes to keep things casual when she's not on a red carpet ... with a twist!
The pop star got candid about her personal style while chatting with PeopleStyle at the FFANY's Shoes on Sale Gala on Tuesday.
While on the red carpet, the fashion mogul said she doesn't consider herself a fashion icon because she likes to dress for comfort.
"I wear sweatpants but I have to wear heels with them," she told PeopleStyle on the red carpet, noting that she has a "warehouse" full of shoes.
But the mother-of-two didn't show up in sweats to the gala, and looked incredibly chic wearing a black Brandon Maxwell jumpsuit.
Simpson also says she's loving the bell bottoms trend at the moment. "They make your legs look skinny. I've been trying to push a bell bottom for so long," she revealed. "That's all I ever wore in Dukes of Hazard. I just love a good flare jean, and I've been trying to push it with all our buyers and now finally they've picked up on the trend. So now I'm going to over exaggerate it as much as I can."
Jess also says she keeps everything she wears. "I'm a vintage buyer so I collect," she confessed. "I have all my prom dresses. All my music video and movie outfits. I went to a lot of proms. That's why we have a warehouse."
The blonde beauty's holding onto most of her clothing in the hopes that her adorable daughter Maxwell, 4, will want to rock her mama's outfits one day.
"I'm a keeper for my daughter. All I want to do is keep everything," she admitted. "And everybody is like 'Throw it out, throw it out.' But I'm like, 'No, it's so important, this is the moment one guy gave me a roseā¦' I have a lot of memories. I keep memories. The clothes are memories."
