Is it too late now to say sorry?
Hilary Duff and boyfriend Jason Walsh issued apologies after stepping out in Halloween costumes that many people found culturally insensitive.
The two hit up Casamigos Halloween party on Friday in a couple's costume that saw Walsh dressed as a Native American and Duff as a pilgrim.
The internet responded with outrage with many taking to Twitter to air their complains.
"No @HilaryDuff Traditional dress is not a costume and you being dressed as a pilgrim proves to me how insensitive and ignorant you are," wrote one individual, whose comments were in keeping with others' gripes.
The former "Lizzie McGuire" star addressed the complaints with an apology.
"I am so sorry to people I offended with my costume," Duff wrote on Sunday via Twitter. "It was not properly thought through, and I am truly from the bottom of my [heart] sorry."
Duff's beau shared his regrets on Instagram, echoing his ladylove's sentiments and saying he "meant no disrespect."

Duff and Walsh aren't the first celebs to offend the public with Native American-themed costumes. Last year, at a "Lone Ranger" themed New Year's Eve party, Chris Hemsworth "wore the traditional dress of First Nations people" -- a decision that he regrets nearly a year later.
On Thursday, the “Thor” actor took the time to apologize for the get-up with a lengthy Instagram post.
"I was stupidly unaware of the offence this may have caused and the sensitivity around this issue," he wrote. "I sincerely and unreservedly apologise to all First Nations people for this thoughtless action. I now appreciate that there is a great need for a deeper understanding of the complex and extensive issues facing indigenous communities. I hope that in highlighting my own ignorance I can help in some small way."
Looks like Duff and Walsh missed this post, which could've tipped them off that their costumes were destined to be ill-received.
