Like most celebrities, the actress reacted to the news of the "Growing Pains" star's untimely passing on Twitter. But her tweet sparked extreme backlash with some accusing her of being "insensitive" for politicizing the news by referencing president-elect Donald Trump.

So far, Edelstein hasn't responded to any of the criticism on Twitter in the 16 hours since she sent out her first tweet.
