According to Trevor Noah, we're all just on one long “tangerine roller coaster ride.”
"The Daily Show" host went off Monday night about President Donald Trump's tweets from Saturday in which he accused Barack Obama of wiretapping the Trump Tower prior to the Presidential election.
“This is the biggest story ever! Even bigger than last week's biggest story ever, when the attorney general was caught lying about his contacts with Russia!” Noah said.
This past Saturday, Trump sent out a tweet saying: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” Followed by another tweet saying, “How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”
"Donald Trump is the only person who thinks the best way to distract from a scandal is to start an even bigger scandal," Noah said. He also made it a point to call out the President for his terrible spelling.
“How are you going to take on a two-term president when you can't even handle a three-letter word?” Noah said. "The extra 'p' is for 'pussy.'"
Later, Noah added that the President is a proven troll who's wires would never even be need to be tapped, as we can all simply follow him on Twitter. After calling out the situation to be “such B.S” Noah said, “We're not going to waste our lives trying to disprove Obama birth certificate part 2, and definitely not before the President offers a shred of evidence.”
Noah went on to discuss the fact that these claims from Trump are not supported by any actual evidence, but rather from an unsubstantiated story on alt-right site Breitbart News.
"Oh, that's comforting,” he said. “The president gets his news from a right-wing conspiracy website.”
“How can you be a conspiracy theorist when you are the president?” Noah said. “People make up conspiracies because they don't know the truth. Pretty soon, Trump is going to be covered in tin foil going, 'The government is spying on me!'”
