Donald Trump Jr. was blasted for being insensitive, opportunistic and uninformed on "The View" this morning over his tweet criticizing the London mayor following yesterday's terrorist attack.
The president's son tweeted out a 2016 interview Wednesday featuring London Mayor Sadiq Khan quoted saying terror attacks were "part and parcel of living in a big city." Donald Jr.'s reaction: "You have to be kidding me?!" Twitter went in on Trump Jr. for "mischaracterizing" Khan's quote, something Whoopi Goldberg also did this morning.
"Perhaps this young man needs to do a little more reading because not only is this a 6-month old quote, but the actual quote the mayor went on to say that because of the consistent threat of terror, Londoners must always be vigilant, prepared and support the police," she said.
"I think he wanted to look like a guy who was tough on terrorism and somehow they weren't, not recognizing that the reality is, if you live in a big city, these threats are real," added Jedediah Bila. "This guy Khan, in his article, was calling for vigilance. He was calling to be tough against these things. To me it looked like an opportunity to seize a political talking point and that's not the time for that."
"And make fake news," added Whoopi.

"The fact you can have an immediate broadcast message in the click of a button doesn't mean you should have an immediate broadcast. The fact that there was no accuracy, it was misleading and misinformed."
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," added Joy Behar.
Whoopi ended the conversation by saying Trump Jr. "needs to do his bloody homework."
"Do your homework, know what you're talking about and then tweet or just look stupid, or don't tweet," she added

In the full article, Khan emphasized the importance for London to remain "vigilant" after the Chelsea bombing in New York last year.
Khan himself responded to Trump Jr.'s criticism by telling CNN's Christiane Amanpour, "I'm not going to respond to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr. I've been doing far more important things over the last 24 hours.
