Contrary to an announcement made early Saturday morning, "Star Trek" legend and LGBT activist George Takei will not be running for Congress in 2018.
"Well, the cat's out of the bag it seems," Takei wrote in an early morning tweet.
"Let's do this! #Takei2018," and linked to an article which claimed Takei would be running in California against Devin Nunes.

After being picked up by multiple publications, Takei admitted that the the announcement was nothing more than an April Fools' joke.
