The hardest part of transforming into two of America's most notorious murderers: the hair.
Nico Tortorella and Myko Olivier play Lyle and Erik Menendez in Sunday's original Lifetime movie "Menendez: Blood Brothers" so they had to take a trip back to 1989 for their haircuts. And no, they didn't go the wig route.
"A big part of the conversation playing Lyle is how are we going to deal with the hairpiece," Tortorella told TooFab. "A lot of people don't know he was bald on top, so he wore a hairpiece in every single trial. We were trying to figure out how we were going to do this, whether I was going to wear a bald cap the whole time and put a piece on top and we ultimately decided that we were going to cut my hair to look like I had a rug on my head, which was the best haircut I ever had in my life."

View StoryFor Olivier, the transformation was a little trickier and he's still dealing with the aftermath.
"I had a little hairpiece the entire time, which was this tiny little triangle of a widow's peak because Erik and I have some differences between the two of us," he said. "They curled my hair and they shaped my hairline so we shaved off little bits to mimic that hairline and help accentuate that widow's peak."
"I'm doing what I can do get rid of it," he joked.
First Trailer for Lifetime's Menendez Brothers Movie with Courtney Love
View StoryAfter their Menendez makeovers, it was time to film opposite Benito Martinez as Jose and the one and only Courtney Love as Mary "Kitty" Menendez. The duo played the brothers' parents, who were brutally murdered on August 20, 1989.
Without Love in the picture, Tortorella may have never signed on.
"I'm not gonna lie, she's the reason I wanted to do the movie in the first place. I saw the script, saw the breakdown and I was like, 'I'll think about it,'" he explained. "Then I saw Courtney Love and went, yep, book my plane ticket, I'm going to Vancouver!"

View StoryNico went on to call her "epic in all sense of the word," adding that she's "hyper intelligent."
"She reads a lot. She's like a little encyclopedia of anecdotes," added Myko. "I found her very nice and very fun to work with. She immediately wanted to do some rehearsals. Mom is a big issue in this movie, so developing that relationship and what that means for the two of us ... there's not a lot about Kitty out there, she had to create that all herself."
