While the Emmy Awards were packed with Stephen Colbert's jokes, a cameo from Sean Spicer and acceptance speeches from winners like Alec Baldwin and Donald Glover, one man you've probably never heard of started trending on Twitter: the show's announcer.
This year, the commentary offered up before commercial breaks or after winners were announced was punchier and more excitable than ever before, leaving many people asking "Who is this guy?"
The man behind the voice is standup comedian Jermaine Fowler, who also stars on CBS' "Superior Donuts." According to CBS' Entertainment EVP Jack Sussman, they hoped Flowler would be "an active part of the show" who would "be connected with what's happened on the telecast and what happens next."
