Rapper XXXTentacion is dead after a shooting in South Florida on Monday. He was 20.
The musician, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was rushed to the hospital after a gunman ran up to his vehicle and shot him while he was motorcycle shopping, according to TMZ, who first broke the news. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Broward Sheriff's Office later said he was approached by two armed suspects leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, where at least one of the suspects fired a gun, striking him. They fled in a dark-color SUV. According to investigators, it appears to be a possible robbery.
The rapper's death exploded on Twitter after it was confirmed, and while he was a controversial figure -- one who was awaiting trial for domestic violence against his pregnant girlfriend -- celebrities and fans mourned his passing.
On Instagram, both Safaree and Brielle Biermann were among those commenting on a post from The Shade Room as well.
"My heart really dropped this is so sad. No one deserves this," wrote Biermann. Safaree added, "This makes me so sick."
