Paris Jackson Slams 'Clickbait' Reports That Demi Lovato's Overdose Scared Her Back Into Rehab

"Ummm, no?? I haven't gone to a clinic," Michael Jackson's 20-year-old daughter wrote on Instagram. "Someone doesn't have to almost die for me to know to be healthy. I've already had friends OD and die. That's enough for me."

The report Jackson was referring to -- a Demi fan account -- claimed she would be "returning to rehab after what happened to Demi Lovato." The article also quoted "a source connected" to Jackson," who allegedly said, "Demi almost died and this served as an alert for Paris to be healthy."

As several news outlets picked up the story, the rumor began to spread on social media.

Actor Damon Gonzalez retweeted BET's story and wrote, "Don't know if this is true, but my girl, Paris Jackson, is going to be alright. If true, I commend her desire for a healthier life. PJ -- [love] you. You got this."

But Jackson did not appreciate the sentiment one bit. "Bruhh, I already made a statement about this," she responded in a tweet. "I haven't gone back to rehab, or to any clinic.. [I don't know] who decided to make this bullshit up for click bait, but it's annoying! I don't need a celebrity's misfortune to make me healthy. I've had enough friends OD to send me that message!"

Jackson has opened up about her problems with drug addiction and depression in the past, telling Rolling Stone last year that she attempted suicide "multiple times."

"It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore," she said of popping 20 Motrin pills and cutting her wrists in 2013.

The attempts came after Jackson claims she was sexually assaulted by an older, "complete stranger" when she was 14.

"I don't wanna give too many details, but it was not a good experience at all," she said. "It was really hard for me, and at the time, I didn't tell anybody."

Jackson later attended a "therapeutic school" in Utah, after which she said she came out "a completely different person."
