Ariana Grande Breaks Her Silence on Mac Miller's Death in Heartbreaking Instagram Post

Ariana Grande has finally broken her silence after the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

On Friday, a week after Miller was found dead on September 7 due to an apparent overdose, the singer took to her Instagram account to share a video of Miller laughing and smiling at her, along with a heartbreaking caption.

"i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will [sic]" she wrote. "i can't believe you aren't here anymore. i really can't wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i'm so mad, i'm so sad i don't know what to do."

"you were my dearest friend. for so long," she continued. "above anything else. i'm so sorry i couldn't fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you're okay now. rest."

On September 8, the day after news broke of his death, Grande shared a photo of her ex boyfriend but did not write a note to accompany the image. This latest Instagram post was her first public statement on the tragic passing of the rapper.

Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, passed away last Friday of an apparent overdose at the age of 26. He was found at noon inside his San Fernando Valley home and pronounced dead at the scene. The rapper, who dated Grande from 2016 to early 2018, was preparing to go on a 26-date fall tour.

Grande's post comes just two days after her brother Frankie wrote a tribute to Miller and revealed that the rapper helped him through his own addictions.

"I am beyond heartbroken over Malcolm's death," Frankie wrote in the Instagram post. "He was a good friend and was wonderful to my sister. He was the reason I went to the rehabilitation center where I was detoxed safely from all of the drugs alcohol and medications I was taking, when I couldn't imagine living without them. It was the place where I found the community of support that showed me that living life without drugs was a possibility and I would never have discovered that if it weren't for Malcolm."

"I remember when I would get 30, 60, 90 days clean and Malcom [sic] would be there with a gift and a card and words of encouragement... telling me that he knew how hard getting sober is and how impressed he was that I was succeeding," he continued.

"Addiction is a TERRIBLE disease... many people are suffering from addiction like I am and many many of them are losing," Frankie wrote. "Those of us who are struggling with addiction must stay strong. We must continue to work HARD on ourselves every single day and help each other. Our disease is strong but WE ARE STRONGER and I vow to work every moment of my life to keep myself sober so that i [sic] may be there for others."

The YouTube personality went on to offer kind words for those that are struggling with addiction. Frankie also posted the Alcoholics Anonymous (212-870-3400), Narcotics Anonymous (818-773-9999), and National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-9255) phone numbers.

"This is a difficult road but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TRUDGE IT ALONE," Frankie's message continued. "To anyone who needs help, help is there. you just need to have the courage to ask, which I know can be EXTREMELY difficult... but when you do I GUARANTEE support will be there. do not be ashamed if you are losing the battle against addiction, shame feeds the disease, humility defeats it. please ask for help! you are NOT ALONE! I am here... and I will continue to be here... for you... Malcom [sic] my friend, you will be dearly missed. and I know you will be looking down on me from heaven, proudAF for every day I live my life clean and sober... 453 days and counting... Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
