Nicole Scherzinger Calls Out Worst 'Masked Singer' Guesser on Panel, Dumbest Guess Yet

Nicole Scherzinger knows exactly how bizarre Fox's smash hit reality series "The Masked Singer" is, and she knows full-well that a lot of its appeal has to do with the awful guesses from her and the rest of the panel.

But who is the worst guesser of the bunch? And which, of all those terrible guesses, does she think is just the worst?

The singer spoke with E!News about the show and admitted that it took a little bit of convincing for her to even do it.

We can imagine the pitch was just a little weird. "When you're watching a hippo compete against a pineapple -- a stoned pineapple -- competing against a unicorn competing against a bumblebee," she laughed. Scherzinger said it wasn't until she saw the costumes and heard who else was involved that she signed on.

"It was such a phenomenon there," she said of South Korea. "I was like, 'Are we that crazy here? Let's try it!'"

Scherzinger is joined on the panel by fellow singer Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy and comedian Ken Jeong. Nick Cannon presides over the festivities as host and even he doesn't know who's beneath the elaborate costumes until one of the contestants is unmasked at the close of each show.

But before that and while we're all playing along at home, it is the job of the "expert" panelists to try and identify who's under the mask by cryptic video packages littered with clues, cryptic statements from the contestants and, of course, their vocal performances each week. It's not as easy as it sounds.

With so many jokes about how terrible the panel is at making their guesses, Scherzinger quickly ran to their defense, saying that some of those terrible guesses, like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, are jokes on the part of the panel that the show edited to look like real guesses.

"That's right, guys, Lady Gaga was like, 'After "A Star Is Born," I'm going straight to "Masked Singer,"'" Scherzinger laughed to the camera.

But even their real guesses are pretty terrible, with Scherzinger giving the crown to worst guess ever to Thicke. "when Robin's like, 'Is it Bella Hadid.' We're like, 'No, it's not Bella Hadid. She's on 27 runways right now. She's not on 'The Masked Singer.'"

She quickly and sheepishly added, "Wait, am I allowed to say that? Is that bad?" No, it's not bad, Nicole. We're all saying the same thing.

She credits McCarthy as the best guesser on the panel. As for who's the worst? "Probably me, I'm the worst."

But we say, don't sell yourself short, Nicole. You're all pretty equally terrible. But that's at least half the fun of the new year's most ridiculous show.
