"The Assassination of Gianni Versace" star wraps a whirlwind year including an incredible awards season and co-headlining tour with the surprise ceremony.
Darren Criss may have just saved his biggest prize for the end of his most successful awards season ever, tying the knot with longtime girlfriend Mia Swier on Saturday afternoon in New Orleans.
The couple's nuptials went down in the Big Easy with friends and Hollywood colleagues including "Glee" alums Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet, Harry Shum Jr. and John Stamos in attendance, according to a report by People. The couple have been dating for approximately eight years, announcing their engagement in January 2018.

"Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together," he wrote. "And I'm happy to announce that we're kicking those adventures up a notch. We're goin for it. To boldly go where neither of us have gone before. Engage."
Criss made that initial announcement two days after "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" premiered on FX. Little did he know the year that was to come after that career-redefining performance. The former "Glee" star has been earning accolades and piling up awards ever since.

He would also take home the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance, among other wins including Critics' Choice, Gold Derby and Satellite Awards.
The busy actor and singer also spent the back half of 2018 on a co-headlining tour with Lea Michele that kicked off in May 2018. The pair put on 28 different shows across Europe and North America over the next eight months, so if we're being honest, this is probably the first time he's slowed down enough to even get married.
Criss' next project is the feature film "Midway," starring Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans and Mandy Moore. It is currently in post-production and expected in theaters November 8, 2019. In the meantime, Criss is sure to enjoy his honeymoon and newlywed life.
