#Mayochella Trends on Twitter After Taylor Swift's Billboard Performance Reminds Everyone of Beyonce

Taylor Swift's Billboard Music Awards opening performance was all anybody could talk about on Thursday morning — but perhaps not for the reasons she might have hoped.

Many fans couldn't help but notice the similarities to Beyonce's famous Coachella set from last year, and it wasn't long before #Mayochella began trending on Twitter.

The Beyhive heaped scorn on Taylor's rendition of her new song "Me!" which opened with a marching band drumline quite reminiscent of Beychella of 2018.

It probably didn't help Swift's case that Bey's pop culture moment was fresh in everybody's minds thanks to the recently released "Homecoming" documentary on Netflix.

Taylor was introduced to the stage by a drumline squad all dressed uniformly in pink — just like Beyonce was in week 2 of her headline set.

As Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco joined her on vocals, the Beyhive was already mercilessly poking fun online, suggesting alternate Beyonce lyrics for Taylor to copy.

"OKAY LADIES NOW LET'S GENTRIFICATION," one jibed with a picture of Taylor's musicians.

"My daddy Minnesota, mama from North Dakota, you mix that Starbucks with that mayo MAKE A TRUMP SUPPORTAAAA," sang another.

Tay and Bey went up against each other in one category on the night — Top Touring Artist — but both lost to Ed Sheeran.

Swift also missed out on her only other shot — Top Female Artist, losing to Ariana Grande — a category Beyonce wasn't even nominated in.

However along with her husband Jay-Z, Beyonce did take home two of the three awards she was nominated for: Top R&B Tour and Top Rap Tour.
