The rapper used an app to track just how much he was blowing on drink and drugs.
Mod Sun is discovering the benefits of sobriety -- his bank balance being one of them.
The rapper revealed he saved $12,000 on drink and drugs since he decided to go clean less than seven weeks ago.
"This is my 48th day clean without alcohol and drugs," he excitedly told us in LA this week. "I have this app that tells you how much money you saved - and I've saved 12 grand."

View Story"It saved my life, it saved money, all that," he added.
Bella Thorne's ex told TooFab the app he was using was "Sobertool" - indeed a screenshot he sent us just four days later revealed his tally was up to $13k, as he pockets an extra $250 per day he otherwise would have spent on his vices.
"You know what? Even if you're not trying to clean up at all, you should get it to see how much money you're spending," the 32-year-old advised.
Mod decided to go sober around the same time he split from Bella. He recently confirmed to TooFab that the former couple had actually gotten engaged, married and divorced during their 15 month relationship.

View StoryWhile they never filed the paperwork to officially tie the knot, they did have a wedding ceremony and exchanged vows.
Back in February, fans speculated they had wed when Mod posted a clip from what appeared to be a wedding ceremony, but neither ever confirmed it.
"I know how lucky I am. I know I met u 1000 years ago," he wrote at the time. "I won't lose u this time. I promise to rub ur toes every night, that's our deal. I love u @bellathorne."
However Mod, whose real name is Derek Smith, recently updated his caption on the vid to: "We split but this was still a beautiful moment in my life."
