Deena tells TooFab she's "not sure" when Sam's wedding will be, but one thing she knows for almost certain is who from the cast will and won't be invited.
Deena Cortese and the rest of the "Jersey Shore" crew are eagerly awaiting the day Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino gets out of prison, which is set to happen next month.
Once Big Daddy Sitch completes his eight-month sentence for tax evasion, Deena hopes the roommates will reunite to celebrate.
"We'll have to wait and see 'cause I'm not really sure what he's gonna be able to do and what he's not gonna be able to do," Deena told TooFab, noting that Mike's been "doing great" at Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York. "I mean, I would love for all of us to get together and have a party, even if it's in his house, you know? We all definitely miss him, and we're definitely gonna get together when he gets out. For sure."
While Mike's been away, Deena says his now-wife, Lauren Sorrentino, has reached out to the roommates for comfort and support, but it hasn't necessarily been out of the blue or out of pure vulnerability because "she's always been close to us, which is great."
"She had us to lean on and talk to," Deena said, adding that the couple will likely start trying to expand their family right away. "I definitely think as soon as he gets out, they're gonna start trying to have kids. They wanted to try and have kids before he went in, so I see them having kids [right away]. It's time."
Snooki Details Excruciating Sex Life After Third Baby, And It's All the Birth Control We Need
View StoryThe mid-season premiere of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" captured the gut-wrenching moment Mike and Lauren walked into federal court to receive Mike's sentence. After somberly making their way out of a black SUV, the couple hugged each castmember, then walked straight through a swarm of photographers and reporters. Deena was a wreck.
"It was the first time you actually saw them take their guard down," she told us. "I hugged Lauren, and she was shaking. It became real. And that's our brother. I couldn't imagine what they were going through."
"Out of everyone, I feel like their relationship is most like me and Chris'," she added. "We're kinda codependent. Not in like an unhealthy way, but they do everything together. I couldn't possibly imagine my husband leave for that long, so it broke my heart for them."
'Jersey Shore' Recap: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Thinks Jen Harley Is Pregnant Again, Cast Thinks She Beat Him Up
View StoryIf you've watched even one episode of "JS Family Vacation," you know Deena's the type of person who supports her friends, even when she doesn't necessarily support what they're doing. Exhibit A: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's tumultuous relationship with his baby mama, Jen Harley.
Just last week, when Ronnie told his roommates he thought Jen might be pregnant again, Deena was the only one who assured Ron she was happy things between the couple seemed to be on better terms. (Then again, she was going off of Ronnie's word, and that might prove to be faulty in the coming episodes.)
"I would love to have a friendship with Jen," Deena told us. "Sometimes, she'll message here and there, but I mean, it's hard because she watches the episodes, and she probably feels a certain way about us 'cause she hears us say some things about her when they're fighting. So I kinda get where she's coming from, where she might not feel comfortable around us. I mean, the whole situation's kinda crappy."
"I think we just try and keep it cordial, and we don't have any issues," she continued. "I think that when they're not fighting, it's good, but you never know where they are. And every time we film, it's something else. But the last time we did film with her, she was great. I had a really good time with her. When shit's not going down, she's a nice person."
Unfortunately for viewers invested in the drama, Deena's "not sure" if Jen will make any cameos this time around.
'Jersey Shore' Recap: Mike Gets Sentenced, Ronnie Gets Jumped, JWoww Snaps Over Questions About Her Divorce
View StoryDuring a conversation about Angelina Pivarnick -- who Deena essentially replaced during the "Jersey Shore" heydays -- she said, "I'm not really a follower, so even if the other girls don't like her, I'm not gonna be someone to be like, 'Yeah, I don't like her either.' I definitely gave her a chance, but if she pulls bullshit then of course I call her out on it, but that's how I am with anybody."
And one of those times was documented last week. An 8-month-pregnant Deena got into a bit of a one-way screaming match with Angelina over a who's-gonna-sleep-where situation at the dude ranch they were visiting. Deena was so aggravated with Angelina, she turned purple! We didn't think she had it in her, but she told us pregnancy really shortened her fuse.
"Honestly, the car ride usually doesn't take as long as we made it take," she explained. "It was like 15 hours, I was super pregnant and I was exhausted, so by the time we got there and then this whole bed situation, all I wanted to do was go to sleep, and she just continued to go on and on. I had a very short patience when I was pregnant, you can ask my husband, especially towards the end. I was uncomfortable, I was tired, I was just ready for [Baby CJ] to be here, so I had a very short patience for everybody, so she just hit me at the wrong time with all the bullshit."
"But I did feel bad yelling at her," Deena added. " I usually only get like that when someone really pisses me off, so when I was pregnant, it was so much easier to get me there."
Samantha 'Sammi Sweetheart' Giancola Is Engaged to Christian Biscardi
View StoryAngelina's presence this season arguably fills the void left by series OG Samantha "Sammi Sweetheart" Giancola, who opted out of returning for the reboot. She's been busy with other things, like getting over her tumultuous relationship with Ron and getting engaged to Christian Biscardi.
"[Sammi's fiancé] is awesome," Deena gushed. "I think they definitely bring out the best in each other, and I think that'll be another couple that's gonna start trying to have kids probably after they get married. I can definitely see that. Sam already has a maternal instinct between being an aunt and everything. But yeah, they're great together."
Deena's "not sure" when their wedding will be since they're currently "moving into their new house and stuff," but one thing she knows for almost certain is who from the cast will and won't be invited.
"I think that everyone will probably be invited. I can't see why not," she said. "I mean, besides Ron, of course."
"Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on MTV.
