"I figured I want to take my power back and post it anyway, have a fun little moment," the influencer tells TooFab.
James Charles is taking his power back.
While speaking with TooFab on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet, the YouTuber, 20, opened up about his decision to share a nude photo of himself after he was reportedly hacked on Twitter. According to Charles, the hacker also threatened to leak his personal photos.
"Having my safety and everything compromised was very, very horrifying," he said. "They threatened to leak my nudes and you know what? I love my body, I'm proud of my booty, so I figured I want to take my power back and post it anyway, have a fun little moment."
"I didn't expect it to be that crazy," he continued. "I'm just really happy I got everything back and to continue just working hard on all my content."
Over the weekend, the makeup influencer shared his nude selfie on Twitter after the apparent cyber hacking. In the risque photo, Charles is seen standing in front of a bathroom mirror as he turned his butt towards the camera.
"hi I got my account back," Charles tweeted with the pic. "just case I ever get hacked again, here's the ONLY nude I've ever taken! can't threaten me with it now get a life."
