Kim was mistaken for her dad's mistress during the O.J. Simpson trial
The 1994 murder trial proved a difficult time for the Kardashians. One that Kim said was "the first time my family really got divided." Robert Kardashian worked on Simpson's legal team after he was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, who was Kris Jenner's good friend.
"One day my dad took me and Kourtney into the trial," Kim recalled. "And then my mom happened to be sitting with Nicole's family, and we looked over and my mom was looking at us, like, 'What are you girls doing here? Why are you sitting on that side?'"
She also remembered the time when the family came out of a restaurant to find her father's car vandalized with "n---ger lover" spray painted on it.
But the moment that first opened Kim's eyes to media scrutiny was when she arrived at her father's home and news outlets reported the event as "Robert Kardashian's mistress pulls up to his house."

Paris Hilton taught her how to get out of a car in front of paparazzi
Kim knew Paris from childhood and hanging out with the hotel heiress became challenging as her star rose with the popularity of "A Simple Life". And as Kim's own profile grew, Paris helped her navigate the Hollywood celebrity landscape.
"I remember we were sitting in her SLR Mercedes... and at that point, the paparazzi would lay on the ground to try and get a picture of you, up your dress, and she said, 'OK. We need to make sure you don't give them that,'" Kim said of Paris.
"She was such a great mentor for me. I really am grateful for my experiences with her. She's a huge, huge reason for my success," the mother-of-four admitted.

Kim figured out how to manipulate the paparazzi to increase her fame. In the early days of her meteoric rise, her friend Jonathan Cheban once suggested they "do something crazy" to get a headline.
"We were in New York, and Britney Spears was in this hotel, locked up in her room," he recalled. "We notice there's paparazzi outside." So the pair got into a Rolls Royce, pulled up and were snapped entering the hotel.
"We literally go hide in the lobby in a phone booth, wait ten minutes, then come out. And the next day the story was "Kim went to see Britney," Jonathan explained.
"They said in the press that we were there to have dinner with Britney Spears -- this whole thing didn't even happen," Kim confessed with a laugh.
Kim wanted to be on "The Real World" at age 12, but her big break came from Kathie Lee Gifford
Although Kim grew up in a neighborhood with such famous faces as Bruce Springsteen, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jay Leno, she didn't understand how to be a part of the entertainment world. Until "The Real World" debuted on MTV.
"'The Real World' launched in 1992 when Kim and I were 12-years-old," said childhood friend Allison Statter. "And Kim was mesmerized. She was like 'I have got to get on "The Real World"'." Kim backed up that claim. "I said to her 'oh my god' this is what I want to do when I'm older. I want to be on a reality show."
But it would be a number of years before Kris Jenner's best friend Kathie Lee Gifford pushed the matriarch to get her family's antics on film.
"[She] would tell me constantly, 'You guys need a show, nobody would believe what goes on in your life,'" Kris remembered. "This went on for a couple of years, until I met the casting director for 'Dancing With the Stars'. She came over for dinner one night and was just watching all of this chaos. She goes, 'This is just crazy, I've got to introduce you to Ryan Seacrest.'"
Voila! "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" was born.
A psychic foretold the Kardashian global domination

But Kim embraced it. "Knowing what I know about fame now, would I give it up? The answer is honestly no. I think I was made for it."
And we agree.
