"You don't have to be gay, there are good people with d--ks out there. I always thought I had to be gay, because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true," the pop star exclaimed, inciting backlash for appearing to imply homosexuality is a choice.
UPDATE 12:44 PM 10/21/2019:
Miley Cyrus took to Twitter after the backlash of her appearing to imply homosexuality was a choice.
"I was talking s--t about sucky guys, but let me be clear, YOU don't CHOOSE your sexuality. You are born as you are. It was always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of. Happy Monday," she wrote alongside a rainbow emoji.
PREVIOUSLY:Miley Cyrus appeared to take a major dig at ex Liam Hemsworth during an Instagram Live session on Sunday with her new beau Cody Simpson.
The pop star -- who split with Hemsworth in August after 10 years together and less than a year after getting married -- said there are "good men out there" but she has "only ever met one, and he's on this live," referring to Simpson.
"Don't give up, guys," she pleaded with her fans, adding, "You've just got to find them. You've got to find a d--k that's not a d--k, you know?"
And Cyrus -- who came out as "pansexual" in 2016 and briefly dated Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter after the Hemsworth split -- now believes she doesn't have to identify as "gay" since finding Simpson.
"You don't have to be gay, there are good people with d--ks out there. I always thought I had to be gay, because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true," she explained during the stream.

"You don't have to be gay," Simpson repeated with a laugh.
The not-so-subtle shade at Hemsworth, however, was quickly overshadowed by Cyrus appearing to imply homosexuality is a choice, as fans took to social media to voice their disappointment.
"Miley, this is so not it. Women don't 'have to be gay' because they 'can't find a good person with a d--k'. Don't use the queer community as a stop-gap because you couldn't find a boyfriend. People aren't queer because they 'gave up' on men. This is so insulting," shared one Twitter follower.

Cyrus has yet to comment on the backlash. TooFab has contacted reps for the singer.
Meanwhile, Cyrus and Simpson seemed to confirm the rumor that they are living together during the split-screen video broadcast.
"We got matching Teslas! Mine's dirty, hers is clean," said Simpson as Cyrus added, "Mine's not clean. Mine's dirty because mine is sitting in the driveway because yours is in the garage!'

And Cyrus hinted at the pair's cohabitation earlier this month when she shared a snap with Simpson captioning it, "Move in day."
Hemsworth, for his part, has been seen spending time with actress Maddison Brown.
