There's an easy "scared the crap out of them" joke here somewhere.
We all know how much Ellen DeGeneres loves scaring the pants off her celebrity guests, so when Howie Mandel guest hosted Tuesday's show, he followed suit.
Instead of taking aim at the stars stopping by for an interview, however, he set his sights on the show's fans and audience members.
The self-described germaphobe set up shop inside the last stall in the studio's gift shop bathroom, of all places, with production blocking off the other stalls with Out of Order signs.
One by one, a stream of guests entered the restroom, made their way to where Howie was hiding and got the shock of a lifetime to see him jump out at them.
They all seemed genuinely surprised and even a little scared by Mandel, who recruited at least one of his victims to pay it forward and scare another fan.
