"You can disagree with my politics all you want but the abuse and threats is too far," the conservative commentator wrote.
Meghan McCain says she's no longer tolerating the "abuse" and "threats" she's received on Instagram.
On Friday, the "The View" co-host announced she's turned off the comments section on her profile as a result of the negative messages.
Tensions Flare on The View Over Impeachment: 'You've Been Speaking A Lot'
View Story"Turning off commenting on Instagram for the time being," she wrote in a message. "I have family and young people in my life who can read it."
She added, "You can disagree with my politics all you want but the abuse and threats is too far."
However, despite her statement, the majority of McCain's posts still allow comments aside from two: a photo with Dolly Parton from Friday and a recent throwback pic where McCain is at a shooting range holding a gun.

McCain's post came just a few hours after she and her "View" co-hosts got into a very heated argument over the ongoing impeachment hearings about President Donald Trump.
While Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and guest co-host Ana Navarro all thought there was enough coming out of the hearings to impeach the president, Abby Huntsman and McCain weren't sure that was the case.
McCain said she lives "5 miles away from MAGA hat people" and said they're "not convinced what happened is an impeachable offense."
"What about the Constitution?" asked Joy. "I have a copy of the Constitution on my nightstand," McCain shot back, "So please don't talk to me about the Constitution!"
McCain then pointed to Congressman Will Hurd, who said he would vote no on impeachment, believing the evidence so far hasn't been "compelling, overwhelming, clear and unambiguous." Tensions flared again as Sunny expressed shock over Hurd's stance.
"I also say it tells me he is complicit, the Republican party has enabled this president and continues to enable this president," Hostin continued. "You're slandering a CIA agent!" McCain interrupted again.
Things became even more heated as the ladies continued their argument, during which the audience clearly sided with Hostin.
At one point Meghan fired back at Sunny. "Let me speak," she said, which prompted Sunny to shoot back, "You've been speaking a lot."
With no Whoopi Goldberg around to break everything up, the women continued to speak over each other, before Meghan said, "We have to go to a commercial, really." After Ana finished her thought, they finally did.
