"Zola," the movie based on the epic Twitter thread written by Aziah "Zola" Wells King, has its first official trailer. The film, which first premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, centers around Zola (Taylour Paige), a waitress, who becomes friends with a stripper named Stefani (Riley Keough). After Stefani convinces Zola to go to Florida to make money dancing, the two ladies embark on a crazy cross-country road trip. Nicholas Braun also stars in the film as Derrek, Stefani's boyfriend, who, according to the trailer, is ready to make "schmoney." "Zola," directed and co-written by Janicza Bravo, hits theaters June 30, 2021.
