Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington's death is sending shockwaves through the music community.
Musicians and other celebrities who knew the rock star are taking to social media to send their condolences after TMZ reported that the singer committed suicide by hanging at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. He was 41.
Hours before the news broke, Linkin Park released the video for their new song, "Talking to Myself," and the band also teased their appearance on an episode of "Carpool Karaoke" just last week.
Bennington most recently performed at the funeral for Chris Cornell, one of the musician's close friends, who also hung himself.

View StoryThe band was intending to head out on tour for their new album on July 27 with 12 shows scheduled through mid August. There is no word yet of whether or not the shows will be cancelled.
