Green Day is climbing the charts ... and this time we ain't talking Billboard.
According to Variety, the band's Broadway show "American Idiot" -- based on the best-selling 2004 album of the same name -- raked in $777,860 during it's debut week ... up from the $464,946 it made during a string of "preview" performances.
FYI -- "Wicked" is the top attraction on the Great White Way, pulling in an impressive $1,565,019.
