So long Tobey Maguire, hello Andrew Garfield.
The 24-year-old, who appeared in "Lions for Lambs" and "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," has been officially announced as the next Peter Parker, A.K.A. Spider-Man, for the latest movie -- which is set to drop July 3, 2012.
According to Columbia Pictures, production will begin this December and Marc Webb, who directed "(500) Days of Summer," will helm the flick.
Of Garfield, Webb says "Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.”
